Welcome to the Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute.

Here you will find all the available information concerning our different Montessori Teacher Education Diploma Courses and Workshop offered from September 2010 to June 2011 as well as information about the Institute in partnership with Montessori Schools where training is provided.

Please review the different options offered by the Institute and do not delay,  as there is no deadline for application but a volume target on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our groups stay small (25 by group).

●  The Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute is registered as Private Career College under the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in accordance with the Ontario Private Career Colleges Act, 2005. View Certificates of Registration

 

●  The Institute has been granted full MACTE Accreditation for the Early Childhood and Elementary Diploma Courses offered within Greater Toronto Area, Manitoba and Florida.

●  The Institute is pleased to provide MACTE Accredited Montessori teacher graduates to CCMA and non-CCMA member schools since June 2002 in the GTA.

 

●  Graduates who hold a diploma granted by our Early Childhood program as accredited by the MACTE Commission, are recognized by the Ministry of Community and Social Services as well as the Ministry of Children and Youth Services of Ontario as qualified to work with children in a Montessori program for children ages 2.5 to 5 years of age in compliance with staffing requirements of the Day Nurseries Act.  Furthermore, the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA) “recognize teacher training institutes that meet the standards of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE)”.

 

 

 

From January 2010 to July 2010

  • Two Friday evening (6:30 - 10:00pm) and   two Saturday a month (9:00am - 5:00pm) starting  Friday January 15th 2010 utill June 2010 + one full week in July (5th to 10th)  in Toronto East-York at Abacus Montessori Learning Centre, 1 Credit Union Drive, off Eglinton, between Victoria Park and the DVP Map

 

From September 2010 to June 2011

  • Two Friday evening (6:30 - 10:00pm) and   two Saturday a month (9:00am - 5:00pm)  in Toronto East-York at Abacus Montessori Learning Centre, 1 Credit Union Drive, off Eglinton, between Victoria Park and the DVP Map

 

 

 

From September 2010 to June 2011

  • Fridays (10:00am - 6:00pm) in Downtown Toronto at Downtown Montessori School, 200 Front Street W, near the Union Station. Map

  • Saturday (9:00am - 5: 00pm) in Markham at Queen's Montessori Academy, 1151  Denison Street, near the Warden and Denison Intersection. Map

  • Saturday (9:00am - 5:00pm) in Mississauga at Royal Montessori School, 2500 Mimosa Row, Southwest of Dundas and Hurontario. Map

  • Wednesday and Thursday evening (6:30-10:00) in Markham at Queen's Montessori Academy, 1151  Denison Street, close to Warden and Denison Intersection. Map

From January to December 2011

  • Saturday (9:00am-5:00pm) in Toronto East-York at Abacus Montessori Learning Centre, 1 Credit Union Drive, off Eglinton, between Victoria Park and the DVP Map

 

 A summer workshop is offered in July for 10 days in Markham. It is designed to give an overview of the Early Childhood Montessori curriculum. The summer workshop is open to all people interested in the Montessori approach to education and is especially useful for assistant-teachers who are already working in a Montessori school or individuals who wish to become assistant-teachers.

Ten full days from Monday July 5th to Friday 9th 2010  (first week)

                                 and Monday 12th to Saturday 17th 2010 (second week)
